On November 13th 2009, MAC hosted a Dinner to celebrate 40 years of Child Advocacy at The Westin Boston Waterfront. For 40 years MAC has been working to overcome barriers that impede childrens’ ability to succeed in school, and saluted people in society who shared the cause to continue to change conditions for many children, while helping one child at a time.
Honorees included the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy; Marian Wright Edelman and Martha Minow.
The reception started at 5:30pm and the Dinner and Program started at 6:30pm.

MAC mourns the loss of Senator Kennedy
Children in Massachusetts, and the nation, have lost a true champion with the death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. His commitment to equal opportunity in education, child health and child welfare over nearly five decades was extraordinary. Massachusetts Advocates for Children, along with countless others, mourns his passing.
