United Way MAC is an affiliate of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley.

Massachusetts Legal Assistance CorporationMAC is part of the state’s civil legal aid system (through the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation) providing statewide advocacy and back-up support on children's issues through the Children's Law Support Project.

MAC runs the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative (TLPI) through a formal partnership with the Harvard Law School.

MAC is the signature pro bono project of DLA Piper Boston and a partner in its Education Rights Project. Through this project, the DLA Piper law firm provides pro bono case representation to selected MAC low-income clients and research, policy analysis and other forms of systemic advocacy in the three areas of statewide special education, autism and Boston.

For over 40 years, MAC has responded to the needs of children who are vulnerable because of poverty, race, limited English or disability and does not intend to stop. With education reform continuing to occupy a high priority on the state’s policy agenda, and with the severe economic crisis facing Massachusetts families, MAC is needed now, more than ever.
