Keyna Mecias Quiñonez
Helpline Advocate
KMecias@massadvocates.org
As the Helpline Advocate, Keyna is one of MAC’s first points of contact for families. After listening to their concerns and goals, she provides tools and resources to assist families in their advocacy. Keyna also works on projects to enhance the Helpline, making it more accessible to families and helping further MAC’s commitment to access to justice.
Before joining MAC, Keyna was a behavioral technician where she helped children with autism achieve socially significant goals. Keyna saw the roadblocks families faced when trying to access care and education, motivating her to become a legal advocate for children with disabilities.
Keyna was born in Costa Rica to Ecuadorian parents and grew up in Brooklyn, NY. Having personally experienced the transformative power of education, Keyna is dedicated to helping children access and succeed in equitable educational opportunities. In her free time, Keyna likes to read, play rugby, and crochet.
